Anthony Owens and Richard “Little Man” Owens

ERWIN – Anthony Owens, 23, Erwin, and his infant son, Richard “Little Man”, 1 1/2 years, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, December 19, 2019, as the result of an auto accident. Anthony was born in Elizabethton and raised by Randy and Mary Owens. Little Man was also born in Johnson City to Anthony and Brianna Blackburn Owens. Anthony was currently serving his country as a Culinary Specialist in the U.S. Army stationed at Fort Campbell. Anthony loved life, was kind hearted, and very loving. He was always joking around and his favorite line was “I got this”. His son, Richard, was Anthony’s world. He was also a Big Marvel and DC comic fan with Superman as his favorite. He also was a Monopoly fanatic. Anthony also loved to play basketball with his friends and enjoyed outings with his family. Anthony was of the Baptist faith. Little Man was a bundle of joy, always smiling, giggling and fun loving. He would not let anyone be sad around him. He delighted in singing with you. Although he was young, he loved flirting with the ladies and making everyone around him smile. Anthony and Little Man are preceded in death by Anthony’s brother, Richard Owens, Anthony’s mother, Mary Owens, and his grandparents, Joe and Faye Owens. Little Man was also preceded in death by an older sibling. Anthony and Little Man are survived by their wife and mother, Jacqueline Owens, Anthony’s parents: Randy and Christy Owens and Danielle Owens, siblings: William and Susie Owens, Dusty and Marie McKee, BJ and Nicky McKee, Scotty Owens, Christy Alexander and Billy Green, Joshua Judkins, Sarah Judkins, Grandparents: Rev. Bill and Brenda Ponder. They are also survived by nieces and nephews: Jasmine Owens, Josh and Misty Arnold, Coty Arnold, Bobby Arnold, Eric and Kearstin Peterson, Seth Ball, Cason Arnold, Aiden Arnold, Brinlee Sparks, Lake Peterson, Adrian Arnold, Mackenzie McKee, Oliver McKee, Jaxon McKee, Jaquan McKee, Johnathan McKee, Bam McKee, Sissy McKee, Uncles and Aunts: Linda Shupe and Bill Parks, Rev. Craig and Tammy Ponder, Rev. Curtis and Kim Ponder, Mike and Laryssa Hubbard and many honorary aunts and uncles, as well as many first, second and third cousins. Little Man was also survived on his mother’s side by his grandparents: Brian Blackburn, Crystal Blackburn and Dwayne Belt, Great grandparents: Wayne and Doris Friesland, Phyllis and Basil Blackburn, aunts and uncles: Hunter and Allison, Hampton, Chris and Hunter Belt; great aunts and uncles: Chad and Mandy Blackburn, Michael and Heather Friesland, Jerry and Juanita Broyles, Patricia Hicks, Albert and Tammy Blackburn, Carl and Darlene Taylor and cousin Jasmine Owens. The family will greet friends to share memories on Thursday, December 26, 2019 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and from 5:00 pm until a Celebration of Anthony and Little Man’s lives at 7:00 pm in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City with Rev. Rob Moor, Rev. Bill Ponder, Rev. Craig Ponder and Rev. Curtis Ponder officiating. A full Military Committal service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, December, 30, 2019 at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Fort Campbell Honor Guard Team. Pallbearers will be Scott Owens, William Owens, Dusty McKee, B.J. McKee, Joshua Judkins, Hunter Hampton, Honorary Pallbearers are Dwayne Belt, Mike Hubbard, Tyler Schlabach, Christopher Belt, Dalton Ponder, Luke Ponder, Jonathan Ponder, Hunter Belt, Michael Friesland, Brian Blackburn, Wayne Friesland, Zach Moody and Alex Smith.
