Sandy Neal Smith

Sandy Neal Smith, 62, unexpectedly departed this world but ran into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 22, 2020. She was born February 15, 1958 to Argil Neal and the late Madelyn Neal, who loved and adored her. She was a woman of devout faith, and the light of Christ shone through her so brightly. She was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she also served as music minster for 26 years. She was musically talented and was able to bless many souls through her beautiful voice while lifting praise to God. She tirelessly served others in her church and family. Her family was her pride and joy, and she spent most of her time taking care of those she loved. She often said that her purpose on this earth was her kids and grandbabies, and her dedication to them was evident. Her love for her family was enormous. Her listening ears, goofy sense of humor, open arms, and unending support will be missed so terribly by all who knew her. Beyond music and family, her pleasures were simple: long drives to scenic views, swimming, reading, and sweet tea. She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Madelyn Neal, and a special nephew, Scott Michael Squibb. Left to cherish her memory are: her two children, Nick Smith (Ashley) and Bekah Hunt (JC); her three grandbabies, Addie Smith, Colby Hunt, and Gracie Hunt; her adoring daddy, Argil Neal; four older brothers and sisters, Kenny Neal (Dean), Kathy Shoun (Steve), Linda Squibb (Richard), and Alan Neal; her former husband, Delbert Smith; and stepson, Jason Smith. The family of Sandy Smith will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, February 28, 2020 at Westminster Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm Friday in the church sanctuary. Rev. Andy Wyatt, Rev Joshua Light, and Lay Pastor Robert Grimes will officiate. Pallbearers will be Nick Smith, JC Hunt, Wesley Squibb, Chad Fleenor, Chris Hunt, and Alan Neal. Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Squibb, Kenny Neal, and Jimmy McGee. Following the funeral service, family and friends will gather at Monte Vista Memorial Park for committal services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2343 Knob Creek Rd, Johnson City, TN 37604.
