Nellie A. Phillips Fox

JOHNSON CITY – Nellie A. Phillips Fox, 81, of Johnson City, died Monday, December 2, 2019 at Franklin Woods Hospital. She was a Washington County native and the 13th child of the late P.C. and Gusta Byrd Phillips and the loving wife of the late Billy R. Fox. Nellie was a wonderful mother to 3 children and grandmother of 5. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers; Alvin, Burnie, Roy, Charles, John and Herman Phillips; sisters, Helen Woods, Lorene Smith, and Betty Treadway. Survivors include sons, Stephen Fox and Royce Fox (Amy); daughter, Cynthia Fox; sisters, Shirley Wren, Christine Nordseth, and Jean Fippin; grandchildren, Logan, Reilly, Ashlin, Brodie and Hayden Grace; great grandchildren, Trysten and Apollo; several nieces and nephews.  The funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Appalachian Funeral Home with Dr. Eddie Fine and Jeremy Dykes officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 P.M. The graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, December 6, 2019 in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50AM. Pallbearers will be Tommy Woods, Kent Harris, Kenny Woods, Allen Neal, Perry Phillips, and Sherrill Phillips. Honorary Pallbearers will be grandchildren.
