Linda Kay Orren
JOHNSON CITY – Linda Kay Orren, 59, a Johnson City native passed away Friday, October 25, 2019 following a brief illness. Linda was a 1978 graduate of Science Hill High School and attended ETSU. Linda worked at Sears until her retirement after 37 years. She was excited about having just started a new job at JC Senior Center. Linda was a fun-loving entertainer who enjoyed making others laugh with her quick wit. She loved writing poetry and was an avid reader. She also had a few special food dishes that were always requested at special events. She enjoyed volunteering at the First Methodist Food Pantry where she always had candy for the children that attended and they came looking for Miss Linda. Linda was a very special and favorite aunt to all her nieces and nephews that she was so proud of. Linda was preceded in death by her father; Larry Orren, maternal grandparents; Mark and Lucille Weems, paternal grandparents Wallace and Ida Orren, aunt; Pauline McCabe and brother; Mark Orren. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother; Peggy Humphreys and step-father; Johnny Humphreys, sister; Karen Orren Tester and husband Anthony of Telford, sister-in-law; Alesia Orren of Maryville, step-sister; Limberly Ladd and husband Shane of Johnson City, step- brother; Kerry Humphreys and wife Carolyn Humphreys of Atlanta, nieces; Jordan Tester of Telford and Juliana Humphreys of Atlanta, nephews; Clinton Tester of Telford, Luke, Will, and Seth Orren of Maryville, uncle Eugene Weems of Johnson City, aunt; Nancy Cox of Elizabethton. Along with special cousins Sandi Dahl and husband Billy, Barbara Brown and husband Scott of Chattanooga. Linda’s family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Wednesday October 30, 2019 at Tetrick Funeral Services in Johnson City from 4pm-6pm with a Funeral Service to follow at 6pm with Pastor Greg Doebler and Pastor Jody Ihfe officiating. A Graveside Service will be conducted on Thursday October 31, 2019 at Monte Vista Memorial Park beginning at 10am. Everyone who wishes to attend the Graveside is asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:50am.
