Jerry Pierce

JOHNSON CITY – Jerry Pierce, age 81, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Carter County, Tennessee, a son of the late Henry and Mollie Fritts Pierce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Fred, Clarence, R.C., R.H., R.J., Darrell, and Roy; one grandson, Joshua; and four sisters, Margaret “Crickett”, Viola, Oma, Rosetta. Jerry was of the Baptist faith and had worked for Burlington Mills and City of Johnson City. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Pierce; three sons, Ronnie Pierce and wife Gail, Sherrill Pierce, and Carroll Pierce; one daughter, Sonia Kay Estep and husband Wayne; six grandchildren; one step grandson; one great granddaughter; two sisters, Sue and Lorene; and several cousins. The family will receive friends Friday, November 8, 2019 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Monte Vista Funeral Home. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM with Pastor Gene Fleenor officiating. Committal Service and Interment will follow in Sermon on the Mount at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Chambers, Eric Potter, Ryan Shoun, Dakota Gallimore, David Rosebud, Stacey Bailey, and Kevin Lane.
