Gary Lynn Jones

ERWIN – Gary Lynn Jones, 67 of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at his home. A native of Erwin, he is the son of the late Luther Jones and Isabelle Williams. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Lopez-Jones; and siblings, Velma Ann Jones, Joe Jones, William “Jr.” Watts, and Kay Silvers. Gary loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time, and worked many trades throughout his life including construction, farming, and truck driving. Those left to cherish Gary’s memory include: children, Gary Lynn Jones Jr. (Tammy) and Micheal Jones (Whitney): grandchildren, Austin Jones (Jennifer), Ashlynn Jones, Kobe Walton (Amanda), Tyger Jones, Jasmyne Jones, Emma Jones, Levi Jones, Ella Jones, Adalyn Jones, Anderson Jones, L.J. Mitchell, Isaiah Jones, Karina Lopez, Juan David Lopez, Cedric Booker Jr., Jahzyah Booker, Corian Lopez-Jones, and Aries Lopez-Jones; great-grandchild, Auden Jones; siblings, Phyllis Smith, Wanda Metcalf, and Rebecca Cook; and his former spouse, long-time friend, and caretaker Coretha Lefler.
