What else parents should know
- We’ll give the vaccine made by Pfizer. For this age group, the Pfizer vaccine requires 3 doses.
- The first 2 doses are given 3 weeks apart. The third dose is given at least 8 weeks after the second dose.
- You’ll make appointments for the second and third doses when your child gets the first.
- If your child will turn 5 years old before getting all 3 shots, you may wish to wait till your child turns 5 and get the 2-dose series designed for ages 5 to 11 years old.
- We’ll bill your insurance plan a charge to help cover the costs of giving the vaccine. We will not send you a bill for the vaccine.
