Aaron Howard Pierce
ELIZABETHTON – Mr. Aaron Howard Pierce, age 77, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of Elizabethton, TN went home to be with the Lord and loved ones passed before him Friday, September 6, 2019 in the Holston Valley Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Joe H. and Creola Oliver Pierce. He was a 1960 graduate of Unaka High School where he was a standout football player. Aaron retired from Great Lakes Research Corporation. He also was employed by the State Highway Department and as custodian at Hunter First Baptist Church, Elizabethton for nearly five years. He attended Lynn Valley Baptist Church and was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. Aaron was active in Meals on Wheels and was a volunteer fireman for the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed sports, especially football, fishing and spending time with his family especially around the holiday season. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by ten siblings. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lynda Sue Tolley Pierce, of the home; his children, Tim and Penny Pierce, Mark and Sherry Pierce, Tammy and John Nanney, Debbie LeVeau and Doug Wilson all of Elizabethton; Todd and Lin Stevens, Gray and April and Richie Hooven, Kingsport; a sister, Cynthia Ensor and husband Henry, Elizabethton; sisters-in-law, Anna Ruth Pierce and Gaye Pierce; fourteen grandchildren and their spouses and ten great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends also survive. A service to honor the life of Mr. Aaron Howard Pierce will be conducted at 7:00 P.M. Monday, September 9, 2019 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Dennis Wilson and Rev. Richard Smitley officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday prior to the service or at the residence at other times. Committal and entombment will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Cardiac ICU for their care of Aaron.
