Richard H. “Rick” Lloyd, Jr.
Richard H. “Rick” Lloyd, Jr., age 63, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born in Erwin, TN, a son of the late Richard Lloyd, Sr., and Edna Foster Lloyd. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by in-laws J.R. and Pearl Pogue. Rick was a veteran of the United States Navy and was also a member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church in Erwin for over 50 years. He was a welder by trade, working primarily for TVA and CSX Transportation. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sandy Lloyd; son, Tommy Lloyd, and wife, Starr; son, Ricky Lloyd, and girlfriend, Jennifer Hodges; brother, David Lloyd; sister-in-law, Pat Churchwell; brother-in-law, Darrell Pogue, and girlfriend, Tammy King; nieces and nephews, Joni Mantooth, Tré Mantooth, Rodney Pogue, and Kim Pogue; 4 great-nieces; and 1 great-nephew. The family will receive friends Friday, June 5, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church, 910 Hoback Street, Erwin, TN. Memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Noah Taylor and Rev. Jack Lloyd officiating. Committal service will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Erwin. Pallbearers will be Darrell Pogue, Tré Mantooth, Rodney Pogue, Scott Foster, Jason Holcombe, Aaron Lloyd, Nathanael Lloyd, Dean Wilson, and Chad Gillis. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Higgins, Jason Lloyd, and the men of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church.
