Robert Wayne “Bud” White

JOHNSON CITY – Robert Wayne “Bud” White, age 86, Johnson City, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at the Life Care of Elizabethton. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Floyd Sanders “Tom” White and Bertie Barnett White. Bud attended public schools in Unicoi County and graduated from Science Hill High School in 1953. He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served his country honorably. Bud was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. White worked in Logistics for the United States Government and lived in various places all over the world which included Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Greece and other unknown places before returning to the United States. After his return to the U.S. he worked for the Navy Department as a civilian selling weapon systems to other countries until his retirement. Bud was fluent in five different languages. Mr. White was a fifty year Master Mason Member of the Unicoi Masonic Lodge #681. He loved his dogs, Bear and Angel, Bluegrass and Country music. Bud enjoyed woodworking and home improvement projects. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ross White and one sister, Dorothy Copas. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Shelly Annette White and fiance, Christopher Mason, Sr., Manassas, VA; one sister, Barbara Snapp, Anderson, SC; two grandchildren: Terry Norman, Jr. and Monique Norman. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, November 23, 2019 in the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Eddie Fine will officiate at the 2:00 PM funeral service. Interment will follow in the Jones Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
