HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Division has the green light to build another hospital.. The hospital system announced plans for its newest hospital this week.

TriStar Health’s certificate of need to build a $250 million, full-service hospital in Spring Hill was approved by the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission Wednesday in a 6-2 vote, according to a press release.

The 68-bed, acute care hospital will be built on the same site as the existing TriStar Spring Hill emergency room. The hospital will have an intensive care unit, labor and deliver unit, neonatal intensive care unit, four operating rooms, cardiac catheterization services and imaging services including MRI.

It will be the first hospital in the community, according to the hospital operator. TriStar was previously approved to build a hospital in Spring Hill, but the decision was ultimately overturned. The company instead built the existing freestanding ER.

“This decision brings us one step closer to fulfilling a promise we made to the Spring Hill community eighteen years ago,” said Mitch Edgeworth, president of HCA Healthcare TriStar Division, in the release.
